Job DescriptionPermanent Design Manager Hull Project: New build healthcare projectsLocation: Hull, East YorkshireJob Type: PermanentReporting into: Senior Design ManagerAbout the CompanyOur client a leading contractor specialising in healthcare provide new build and refurbishment projects across the UK including medical spaces & mobile theatres to live clinical environments.The OpportunityAs an experienced Design Manager, you will have a key role in the design process of new build healthcare projects. You will be based from the Head office in East Yorkshire, with occasional travel to sites across the region. You will lead and coordinate the full design process, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure projects align with client requirements and regulatory standards. This role carries responsibility for maintaining exceptional design quality, ensuring all elements are delivered with accuracy, consistency, and efficiency to meet project objectives.What Were Looking ForRelevant Qualifications:Industry Related Degree / Equivalent Level Qualification Desirable not essentialCSCS Card Desirable not essentialExperience:Proven track record of working on new build / refurbishment projects in the healthcare sector is highly advantageous Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a Design Management or similar position for a leading construction contractor or subcontractorKey Skills:Strong IT SkillsHolds strong leadership qualitiesGreat time management expertiseExcellent sales and presentation skillsAbility to multitask and prioritise projectsStrong communication skills with impressive attention to detailsIndication of strong interpersonal and people management skillsProficient in utilising design tools and software, with meticulous attention to detailThorough working knowledge of design frameworks, codes, and standards, specifically in healthcare environmentsKey ResponsibilitiesCost controlLiaise with stakeholdersProgress reporting / monitoringChair regular design team meetingsCreate and sustain the projects design management planDeliver support and technical guidance to clients and stakeholdersIdentify possible design obstacles and develop practical, forward-thinking solutionsManage design modifications, ensuring that changes are accurately documented and communicatedDevelop and execute design strategies ensuring they align with project objectives and business goalsContribute to team success by supporting others and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivityGenerate creative design solutions in response to client briefs, integrating feedback from the design teamCoordinate and direct design activities throughout projects, ensuring consistency with timelines, deliverables, regulatory frameworks, and corporate standardsSupport the development and enhancement of design management processes, ensuring they remain efficient and fit for purposeLiaise with internal departments, clients, and external partners to identify requirements and develop efficient, compliant design responsesReview and approve design plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure they adhere to required standards and guidelinesMaintain exceptional standards of design quality and consistency, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirementsContact Details:Contact: James Shorte (Associate Director) or Emily OGrady (Executive Senior Resourcer) at Caval 0113 203 1245
