Electrical Project Engineer

Job Description Job Description:MSP Technologies is a battery energy storage (BESS) manufacturer, seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer (Electrical) to join the expanding team to develop new and existing products.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring successful delivery of projects from initial concept to client handoverAssess and interpret project briefs to develop into comprehensive project specificationsProvide expert advice and opinion to the client and colleagues on project mattersIdentify site specific control requirementsAdvise and develop solutions based on client requirementsEnsure key project milestones are identified and subsequently achievedCoordinate internal departments and external suppliers to ensure projects run smoothlyBe the point of contact on project for clients, suppliers and colleaguesCreate project related documents and drawings: SLD, Block Cable, Cable Schedules, Site Plans, System GADraw on previous experience to provide solutions to design issuesIdentify all installation and commissioning requirements, creating RAMS and ICALOrchestrate and provide advice to the delivery team, ensuring successful delivery, commissioning, training, and handoverProvide expert opinion to the sales teamInternal StakeholdersProject Managers Provide technical updates, contribute to planning, and ensure alignment with project timelines.Sales Identify and develop the sales scopeProduction Team Ensure production are aware of time constraints and site specific requirementsControl / Software Engineers Identify control strategies and customer specific requirementsTest Engineers Partner to develop and execute test plansMechanical Engineer Ensure full system development and coordination between different principalsPerson SpecificationAttention to detail with ability to self-assessExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Self-motivated and capable of working independently.Safety-conscious with high attention to detail.Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and schedulesBe adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.DBS check to be completed prior to start date.A legal right to work in the UK.Qualifications and ExperienceOne or more of the following:Degree or HNC/D in Electrical Engineering or related field.Formal training and qualification as an electricianC&G 2396 Electrical DesignProficient with electrical and mechanical CAD packagesMinimum 3 years of experience in Electrical or Project EngineeringPrior experience of running projects 1-3MKnowledge of renewable and distributed energy systemsCompetent with knowledge on electrical characteristics:AC / DC NetworksPower FactorkVA / kWHarmonicsProficient in reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools.Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and remote monitoring platforms is a plus.Valid drivers license and willingness to travel~75 days on site per year (client meetings, site surveys, installation, commissioning)Desirable skillsEnthusiastic about renewable energyFamiliarity with renewable energy systems and grid-tied configurations.Prior experience of island systemsExperience with utility companies and DNOHands on experience with electrical installations and commissioning
