Job Description We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day to day operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our manufacturing and office facilities at our Hingham site.As Mirus continues to grow and expand its production capacity including the development of new buildings and the potential for a future factory, this is a highly practical, hands-on Facilities Manager role, responsible for ensuring our buildings, infrastructure, utilities, site services, production equipment and machinery are fully supported in a high-performing aerospace manufacturing environment. You will manage contractors, site services, maintenance programmes, budgets and improvement projects, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, efficient and fit for future growth. While the role has responsibility for supporting Health & Safety and environmental compliance, the primary focus is the effective management and development of our facilities and infrastructure and is a pivotal role within the Operations function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional to make a tangible impact in a growing, forward-thinking aerospace business.About the roleYou will be responsible for a small team, ensuring that our sites, infrastructure and services operate safely, compliantly and sustainably, while driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong culture of responsibility and operational excellence. Combining hands-on facilities management with leadership of health and safety frameworks in a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment, you will also lead the implementation and maintenance of a UK CAA-approved Safety Management System (SMS).This is a highly practical, hands-on Facilities Manager role where you will need to be comfortable being visible on site and, where appropriate, supporting with minor maintenance tasks yourself when this is the quickest and most effective way to resolve issues, while ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures.YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBLITLIES:In your role as our Facilities Manager, your main duties will include:Facilities management and site operationsTake full ownership of the day to day operation of all site facilities, infrastructure and servicesManage facilities related contracts and service providers, including cleaning, waste, utilities, security, maintenance and specialist servicesOversee planned and reactive maintenance of buildings, plant and infrastructureDevelop, implement and manage annual facilities and maintenance plans, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) for production equipment and planned preventative maintenance programmesSupport facilities projects, refurbishments, layout changes and site improvements to support business growth and operational efficiencyManage production support infrastructure and services in close collaboration with Operations and EngineeringMaintain site security systems and ensure effective 24/7 site security arrangementsAct as the key point of contact for all facilities issues, coordinating internal teams and external contractorsEnsure all contractor activities are controlled, compliant and delivered in line with agreed service levelsManage the facilities budget, forecasting costs and controlling spendIdentify and deliver cost reduction opportunities and energy efficiency improvements to reduce running costs and environmental impactContinuously review and improve facilities processes and systems to enhance the experience of employees, visitors and contractorsRespond to urgent facilities issues and site emergencies, ensuring business continuityHealth, Safety and environmental responsibilitiesSupport the implementation and ongoing operation of site Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements in line with company policies and regulatory requirementsEnsure facilities activities, maintenance work and contractors operate in line with safe systems of work and risk assessmentsSupport site incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions related to facilities and infrastructureContribute to environmental and sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and energy managementWork closely with the HSE and Quality functions to support audits and compliance activities where they relate to facilities and site servicesAbout youTo help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within facilities, with a strong operational background in a manufacturing or regulated environment, comfortable managing multiple service providers and site priorities driving operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:Strong experience managing facilities contracts, suppliers and service providersExperience managing planned and reactive maintenance programmesBudget and cost management experienceStrong understanding of building services, site infrastructure and maintenance operationsAble to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced operational environmentGood working knowledge of safe systems of work and contractor controlDesirable:Facilities management qualification or relevant technical qualificationExperience supporting facilities projects or site expansionsKnowledge of LEAN / 5S and workplace organisationExperience contributing to sustainability and energy-efficiency initiativesBasic awareness of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or similar management systemsPersonal skills / attributes:Highly organised and practical, with a strong bias for action and problem solvingConfident working with internal stakeholders across Operations, Engineering and QualityStrong communication and stakeholder-management skillsCalm and responsive when dealing with urgent facilities or site issuesDetail-focused, with a strong commitment to maintaining a professional, safe and efficient working environmentBe eligible to work in the UK, comfortable commuting or being based in Hingham, Norfolk and work flexible hours required.
