By combining archival intelligence, artificial intelligence, state-of-the-art technologies, and advanced survey methodologies, Oceyon transforms deep-sea recovery from speculative exploration into a structured and data-driven industrial process.Our missions operate under strict legal, archaeological, and ESG frameworks, ensuring that maritime heritage preservation and responsible recovery remain central to all operations.We are looking for a Senior Government Relations Manager to join Oceyon on a part-time, mandate-based arrangement.Role OverviewThis is a high-impact, senior role focused on opening doors at the highest levels of government, shaping engagement strategies, and supporting access to permits, licenses, and strategic partnerships.The ideal candidate is a well-connected operator with direct access to ministers, secretaries, and senior government officials, and a proven ability to navigate complex governmental environments internationally.Key ResponsibilitiesLeverage existing relationships to facilitate introductions to senior government stakeholders (ministerial / secretary level) in target jurisdictionsSupport Oceyon in building and executing government engagement strategiesAdvise on regulatory positioning, stakeholder mapping, and access pathwaysIdentify and unlock opportunities for permits, licenses, and strategic cooperationAct as a trusted advisor on political, regulatory, and cultural dynamics in relevant marketsCollaborate closely with Oceyon’s Head of Regulatory & Government Affairs and leadership teamContribute to building a global network of high-level governmental relationshipsRequired Profile & Background10–20+ years of experience in government, diplomacy, public affairs, or international business developmentA minimum of 5–10 years of experience in mining, exploration, or offshore activities is strongly preferredEstablished, verifiable network at ministerial / senior government level (essential)Strong track record of opening doors and influencing decision-making processesExperience working across multiple jurisdictions (Africa, Middle East, Asia, Americas is a plus)Deep understanding of government structures, permitting processes, and stakeholder managementHighly autonomous, entrepreneurial, and results-drivenExcellent communication and negotiation skillsEngagement ModelPart-time / advisory / mandate-based (20–30% or flexible depending on geography and opportunities)Remote, with occasional travel as requiredPotential to engage multiple profiles across regionsCompensation structure combining:Retainer (optional / selective)Attractive Success-based incentives linked to access, permits, or partnershipsWhat We OfferOpportunity to be part of a unique, high-potential global ventureDirect exposure to strategic, high-level international projectsFlexible and entrepreneurial working modelAbility to leverage your network in a high-impact, outcome-driven role
