Deputy Manager (Children's Residential)

Key Responsibilities: Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home in line with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. Deliver high-quality, child-focused care that promotes stability and positive long-term outcomes. Supervise, mentor and develop residential support staff, ensuring strong team culture and high standards of practice. Oversee completion of key paperwork, care plans, and records to a consistently high standard. Promote safeguarding and embed safe working practices throughout the home. Support with rota planning, recruitment, staff development and performance management. Contribute to the homes continuous improvement and prepare for Ofsted inspections, audits, and reviews. Build strong working relationships with children, families, local authorities and external partners. Provide shift cover where needed and participate in the on-call rota. Requirements: NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards). Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a childrens residential home. Background of progression from Residential Support Worker into management. Strong understanding of safeguarding, relevant legislation, and Ofsted standards. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with paperwork and compliance. A motivated, resilient and hard-working character with the ambition to progress to Registered Manager in the future. Enhanced DBS clearance and positive employment references.
