Fantastic quality of life Good clinical environment and state of the art equipment Excellent clinical experience Interview date:TBC For more information please contact Ms Thiru Bavananthan - Clinical Director 01432 355444 or email Main duties of the jobThe duties of the consultant in the hot week will include: o Supervise the day-to-day management of labour wardo Two labour ward rounds per dayo One maternity ward round a day (to review all antenatal patients and problematic post-natalpatientso One gynaecology ward round to review all patients admitted as an emergency and those ofColleagues in their absenceo Perform or supervise emergency gynaecological cases on the CEPOD lists.o Ensure there is sufficient handover between you and your consultant colleagues and theSenior resident doctors at the change of each shifto Be available for the resident doctors to discuss the management of patients attending theEPAU and the emergency gynaecology clinic You will find more duties listed on the attached job description. Person SpecificationEducation & QualificationsMRCOG or equivalent Full doctors GMC registration with Licence to Practise Two appropriate ATSMs or equivalent experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Candidates should ideally be on the Specialist Register or be eligible to be on the specialist register within six months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC) Experience in the following areas: oAdvanced Labour Ward Practice oBenign Gynaecology ATSM oColposcopy oBenign Abdominal Surgery ATSM oAdvanced Antenatal Practice or Maternal Medicine or Fetal oMedicine oUrogynaecology TrainingPossesses training and education skills to teach junior medical, nursing and midwifery staff Demonstrates Leadership qualities Provides learning opportunities within the clinical environment Provides learning opportunities within the clinical environment to teach junior colleagues Experience & KnowledgeA wide general obstetrics and gynaecology training Good experience at running labour ward and Emergency Gynaecology at a senior level Either of the following can be beneficial: oRisk management experience oFetal Monitoring Leadership Communication and Language SkillsExcellent communication skills both oral and written Ability to establish good working relationships with staff and be able to communicate well with patients.
