They're known for their collaborative culture and commitment to innovation and they're now looking for a talented Commodity Buyer to join their procurement team. If you're someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys making a real impact, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you.The role will require you to be on-site 5 days a week between 8:30 - 16:30 (Monday to Friday).Your new roleAs the Commodity Buyer, you'll be leading negotiations, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives. You'll work closely with internal teams to ensure the supply base supports business goals, and you'll play a key role in sourcing, auditing, and contract management. It's a varied and hands-on role where your commercial awareness and attention to detail will really shine.Key responsibilities:Manage negotiations for designated commodities and services whilst ensuring compliant routes to marketSource and audit new suppliers to develop a varied supply baseDevelop and manage relationships with suppliers to optimise cost, quality and deliveryIdentify potential savings in your given commodity areaWork closely with engineering to gather requirements for all purchasingWork with internal stakeholders to ensure goods are availableWhat you'll need to succeedA degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.CIPS Level 4+ qualification.4-6 years' procurement experience, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering setting.Strong negotiation skills and experience with formal tenders and contracts.Familiarity with SAP or MRP systems, and solid Excel/Word skills (Power BI is a bonus!).A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.What you'll get in returnA competitive salary between 36,000 - 40,000Range of benefits from competitive pension, life assurance, free eye testsFree on-site parking25 days holiday + bank holidaysTraining and development opportunities, such as CIPS supportWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
