We are seeking a Head of Technical Innovation to lead our future personalisation strategy. Role overview:As Head of Technical Innovation, you’ll be the bridge between creativity and capability – combining deep technical expertise with an experimental mindset to help us push the boundaries of what’s possible in custom jewellery and personalised gifting.You’ll work across teams to improve existing processes, introduce new materials and technologies, and lead the integration of advanced personalisation techniques (e.g. UV Printing/Embroidery). Your work will directly impact product development, customer satisfaction, and the brand’s competitive edge.This role is perfectly suited to somebody who likes to work at the leading edge of product and process innovation at scale, with a combination of a creative and solution/detail-oriented mindset. What you’ll be doing:Lead the technical innovation roadmap for personalised jewellery and accessory production.Guide and oversee the integration of new personalisation technologies (e.g. laser engraving, UV printing, embroidery, vinyl transfer).Work with design and product teams to turn complex customised concepts into scalable production-ready solutions.Liaise with the Design Team on CAD development and modelling for customised and bespoke jewellery.Evaluate and improve manufacturing techniques, including plating, stone setting, laser engraving, rapid prototyping and more.Oversee the testing and implementation of new machinery, tools and processes for UK-based and international production.Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, improving quality, consistency and turnaround times.Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing partners to develop new capabilities and pilot innovative concepts.Train and support internal teams in understanding and using new tools, machinery or techniques.About you:Proven experience in a technical role within jewellery or personalised product manufacturing.Understanding of CAD/Illustrator design, ideally with Matrix or Rhino.Deep knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes and equipment – including casting, plating, setting, and prototyping.Experience with commercial personalisation technologies such as engraving, embroidery, UV printing, and vinyl printing.Comfortable working across both creative and technical teams to translate ideas into products.Highly hands-on and solutions-focused with a maker’s mindset.Bonus: Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Gravotech software.Bonus: Experience scaling production in a direct-to-consumer or custom product businessWhat we offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.A dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.Opportunities for growth and development within a fast-growing companyEmployee discounts on Abbott Lyon products.A chance to make a significant impact on the future of the company and its people
