Job Description

The Inspector will be responsible for carrying out detailed inspections of aircraft landing gear components and accurately recording component condition within the company SAP system. The role involves developing cost-effective repair and overhaul route sheets in accordance with approved OEM Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and Standard Operating Procedures Manuals (SOPMs), while supporting production targets and quality standards. This is a shift-based role Monday to Friday Duties and Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections of aircraft components using approved inspection criteria, techniques, and calibrated inspection equipment. Identify component condition and determine appropriate repair or overhaul requirements in accordance with OEM CMMs and company procedures. Create, amend, and maintain component overhaul and repair routes within the SAP system. Accurately record all component data, including Part Number (P/N), Serial Number (S/N), and condition, within the Shop Repair Order and SAP system. Carry out dimensional inspections and precise measurements as required to support inspection workload. Work in accordance with production priority lists, including ASPEN schedules and milestone dates provided by Production Control. Liaise with Technical Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve inspection and repair-related queries. Support continuous improvement by participating in daily departmental dialogue and communication meetings. Promote and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and codes of practice. Maintain awareness of the Major Accident Prevention Plan (MAPP) and associated responsibilities. Demonstrate understanding of, and compliance with, the companys environmental policies and procedures. Ensure all duties are carried out in full compliance with Safety, Environmental Regulations, and Company Procedures. Education and Qualifications Completion of an aerospace apprenticeship is desirable. A recognised qualification in an engineering discipline is desirable. Experience and Knowledge Previous experience within an aerospace engineering or equivalent regulated environment. Proven background in mechanical component inspection. Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous. Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, standards, and inspection equipment. Practical experience using imperial measuring tools, including micrometres, callipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
