Maintenance Engineer Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire Salary: 40,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM The Role for the Maintenance Engineer: A great opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a growing team at a newly built, modern manufacturing facility. This hands-on role involves supporting day-to-day engineering operations across manufacturing and packaging lines, focusing on technical problem-solving, routine maintenance, and operational support. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and enjoys troubleshooting and improving technical systems. Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer: Provide hands-on maintenance support for all site machinery, plant, and equipment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance. Diagnose and repair breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime. Identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors on maintenance and upgrade projects. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, faults, and compliance documentation. Participate in site safety and quality improvement initiatives. Provide equipment training and guidance to Operators to support safe and effective use. What We're Looking For In a Maintenance Engineer: Proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role, ideally within a regulated manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems. Familiarity with regulatory standards including GMP and Health & Safety practices. A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
