Job Description Financial Accountant, Harrogate ,45,000+A growing and highly successful property business based in central Harrogate is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to support the Head of Property and Operational Finance. This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both transactional accounting and broader financial operations.Youll play a key part in ensuring the smooth processing of transactions, maintaining accurate reconciliations, supporting projects, and producing insightful financial reporting. The role involves close collaboration with internal teamsAccounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, VAT, Property and Portfolio Accountantsas well as external partners including auditors, investors, and outsourced finance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the wider finance team across multiple operational areasMaintain reconciliations between internal systemsDeliver project work, including process development and improvementProcess and report on tenant transactionsRecognise profits across various fundsLiaise with outsourced finance teams to provide information and reportingCommunicate with external fund investorsWork closely with the operational finance team (banking, AP)Assist auditors with required financial informationCalculate, coordinate and post portfolio-wide adjustmentsLead and document process improvementsBuild strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Investment, Development, Corporate, Utilities, Suppliers, etc.)Respond promptly to general ledger, AP, and cash-related queriesAnalyse departmental KPIs to help prioritise workloadsRequirementsQualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW or equivalent) preferred; QBE consideredStrong Excel skills and overall IT literacySolid understanding of transactional processing and ledger impactsExperience in finance operations and process-driven environmentsAbility to develop standardised processes and proceduresHigh level of attention to detail and disciplineEnthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to delivering excellent serviceAbility to support and supervise a team of experienced but largely unqualified staffProperty sector experience is an advantage, but not essentialBenefitsHours: MondayFriday, 9am5:30pm (1-hour lunch)Hybrid working: 1 day per week from home after probationHolidays: 24 days + bank holidays (rising to 30 with service)Life AssurancePrivate healthcare after probationSupport for further training and qualificationsModern, central Harrogate officeclose to public transport and walking distance from free all-day parkingJBRP1_UKTJ
