Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant, Harrogate ,45,000+ A growing and highly successful property business based in central Harrogate is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to support the Head of Property and Operational Finance. This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys both transactional accounting and broader financial operations. Youll play a key part in ensuring the smooth processing of transactions, maintaining accurate reconciliations, supporting projects, and producing insightful financial reporting. The role involves close collaboration with internal teamsAccounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, VAT, Property and Portfolio Accountantsas well as external partners including auditors, investors, and outsourced finance teams. Key Responsibilities Support the wider finance team across multiple operational areas Maintain reconciliations between internal systems Deliver project work, including process development and improvement Process and report on tenant transactions Recognise profits across various funds Liaise with outsourced finance teams to provide information and reporting Communicate with external fund investors Work closely with the operational finance team (banking, AP) Assist auditors with required financial information Calculate, coordinate and post portfolio-wide adjustments Lead and document process improvements Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Investment, Development, Corporate, Utilities, Suppliers, etc.) Respond promptly to general ledger, AP, and cash-related queries Analyse departmental KPIs to help prioritise workloads Requirements Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW or equivalent) preferred; QBE considered Strong Excel skills and overall IT literacy Solid understanding of transactional processing and ledger impacts Experience in finance operations and process-driven environments Ability to develop standardised processes and procedures High level of attention to detail and discipline Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to delivering excellent service Ability to support and supervise a team of experienced but largely unqualified staff Property sector experience is an advantage, but not essential Benefits Hours: MondayFriday, 9am5:30pm (1-hour lunch) Hybrid working: 1 day per week from home after probation Holidays: 24 days + bank holidays (rising to 30 with service) Life Assurance Private healthcare after probation Support for further training and qualifications Modern, central Harrogate officeclose to public transport and walking distance from free all-day parking TPBN1_UKTJ
