Semi Senior Accountant

Job Description A well-established and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants based in Harrogate is seeking a motivated and career-driven Semi Senior Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to broaden their experience across accounts, tax, audit, and digital transformation initiatives including Making Tax Digital (MTD). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses to growing SMEs across various sectors. The role offers varied and hands-on exposure, providing an excellent platform for professional development.Key responsibilities will include:Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companiesAssisting with audit assignments from planning through to completionPreparation of personal and corporate tax returnsSupporting clients with bookkeeping and management accountsAssisting clients in preparing for and transitioning to Making Tax Digital (MTD)Liaising directly with clients and building strong professional relationshipsSupporting senior team members with ad hoc advisory projectsThe Ideal Candidate The firm is looking for an individual who:Is AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualifiedHas experience working within a UK accountancy practicePossesses strong technical knowledge across accounts and taxIs confident communicating with clientsIs proactive, organised, and keen to develop professionallyExperience with cloud accounting software (such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and an understanding of MTD requirements would be advantageous.
