Title Chief Finance Officer Salary £120,000 per annum Contract Permanent Hours 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours) Location Hybrid, with two days per week at our head office in Hampstead, London Job Summary As Chief Finance Officer at Anthony Nolan, you’ll lead our Finance, Governance and Resources function that powers our life‑saving mission. You’ll bring clarity, commercial insight and strong governance. Forming a key part of our Strategic Leadership team and working closely with our Chief Executive and Trustees, you’ll ensure we’re financially strong, well‑run and ready for the future so patients, donors and families get the support they need. ResponsibilitiesOversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting so the organisation has the information it needs to plan well and to enable the organisation to grow, invest and improve. Manage different streams of income, reserves and cash flow effectively, maintain strong financial controls, and provide timely analysis that supports good decisions. Maintain a strong grip on financial performance, risk and compliance. Communicate with purpose and clarity to diverse audiences. Use and develop data to drive financial decisions across the organisation. Represent Anthony Nolan with key external bodies, including regulators and funders, ensuring we meet our obligations and protect our reputation. Oversee procurement to ensure we stay compliant and use our budgets well. Maintain effective supplier partnerships and ensure our sourcing reflects our ethical and sustainability standards. Ensure our estate and facilities are well managed, fit for purpose and ready for future development. Maintain reliable health and safety, risk and compliance processes across the organisation. Ensure our legal obligations are fulfilled and legal services support the business. Provide senior leadership and oversight of quality and regulatory functions, ensuring effective governance, compliance and organisational assurance.ExperienceA professional business accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and substantial post‑qualification experience at a senior level. Operating at a senior strategic finance level, leading and integrating financial leadership alongside the organisation’s wider enabling functions. Operating within a regulated environment with experience of leading organisational governance and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and best‑practice standards. Working with a commercial mindset, identifying opportunities to strengthen financial performance, resilience, and long‑term sustainability. A track record of sponsoring and leading change, transformation or strategic programmes with organisation‑wide impact. A strong track record of leading large, diverse teams with organisation‑wide impact, building leadership capability and succession.
