Job Description Operations Supervisor (Confidential Appointment)Location: CambridgeSector: Building Services / Engineering OperationsReporting to: Operations DirectorWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established building services organisation for an Operations Supervisor to support the delivery of plumbing, electrical and air conditioning services across residential and commercial environments.This role is ideal for an experienced supervisor or junior manager looking to step into a broader operational leadership position within a multi-disciplinary technical setting.The RoleThe Operations Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operational activity, working closely with engineers, coordinators and management to ensure service delivery meets company standards and customer expectations. Acting as a key point of contact for both internal teams and external stakeholders, the role plays a vital part in job coordination, quality control and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule and direct engineering teams to meet service demand and customer expectationsSupport recruitment, onboarding and training of operations coordinators and team membersSupervise daily activities of the Operations team to ensure efficient and compliant service deliveryReview completed work to ensure quality standards are met and report findings to the Operations DirectorAssist with performance reviews, appraisals and setting improvement objectivesProvide regular feedback on team performance to senior managementLiaise with mechanical, electrical and air conditioning departments to ensure effective resource planningCommunicate daily with engineering teams to support job management and maintain standardsReport on project progress, labour hours, materials and estimated completion timesMaintain supplier communication regarding warranties, product issues and material availabilityReview work orders, invoices and time reports to ensure accuracy and support cash flowEnsure parts and materials are ordered in a timely manner to meet deadlinesEnforce company and departmental policies across the Operations teamUndertake additional duties as required to support operational efficiencyAbout YouYou will be a proactive and organised supervisor with experience in technical or building services environments.
