Job DescriptionMaintenance & Repairs Officer Housing | Guildford Borough CouncilLocation: Guildford, Surrey (Hybrid working available)Hourly Rate: 31.34 per hour (PAYE) or 40 per hour Umbrella or Deemed LTD (Inside IR35)Type: Full-time, temporaryWe are currently recruting on behalf of aSurrey-based local authoritywho areseeking a Maintenance & Repairs Officer to join their Technical Services team. You'll play a key role in delivering a proactive, customer-focused housing repairs service across the councils residential portfolio.The Role Reporting into the Repairs Lead, youll be carrying out inspections, diagnosing defects, specifying works, and managing contractors or DLO teams to deliver responsive and minor works safely, on time, and to budget.Responsibilities:Pre, post and void property inspectionsIssuing work orders and specifications using SORsOverseeing repairs through to completionCoordinating with Housing Officers and residentsMonitoring KPIs, cost control, and quality assuranceSupporting compliance around H&S, asbestos and CDMParticipating in out-of-hours standby rotaRequirements:Strong understanding of domestic building maintenanceExperience writing specs and managing responsive repairsConfident communicator, comfortable with residents and trade teams alikeIT literate ideally with housing systems (e.g. Keystone, Orchard etc.)Working knowledge of H&S legislation (asbestos, CDM, safeguarding)Full UK driving licence & access to vehicle (ECU allowance provided)HNC/HND or trade background advantageousIf interested please feel free to get in touch on 01772 208967 or via email at [email protected]
