Job Title: Fabrication Workshop ManagerLocation: GrimsbyHours: Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:45pm, Friday: 7.45am – 3:45pm (excluding bank holidays)About Us:Carrera Engineering, established in 2006, specialises in providing high-quality sheet metal fabrication and machining services across the UK. We are committed to delivering precision engineering solutions and excellent customer service, supported by a dedicated team working in a safe and collaborative environment.About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fabrication Workshop Manager to join our senior management team to oversee our engineering workshop. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on background in sheet metal work, with the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience in 2D CAD would be an advantage but not necessary. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a commitment to quality as well as health and safety standards.Key Responsibilities: Open and close the workshop daily, ensuring all equipment, doors, and premises are secureSupervise and coordinate workshop engineers, assigning work from worksheets and drawingsIssue PPE and monitor its usageManage timesheets, attendance, and staff communicationConduct weekly health 'safety inspections in conjunction with the H&S managerOrder and manage stock supplies, materials, and consumablesOrganise servicing for workshop equipment and machineryLiaise with suppliersCoordinate vehicle repairs and servicingCollaborate with management on planning, production deadlines, and engineering requirementsMonitor manufacturing quality, precision, and timescalesLiaise with clients and engineers to allocate resources effectivelyAssist with training schedules and apprenticeshipsAddress and resolve workshop issues, including team disputes, with management supportKey Attributes: Extensive hands-on experience in sheet metal work and engineeringProven recent experience in a similar role is a must Problem Solver and Self Starter able to work on own initiativeAbility to read and interpret drawingsStrong team player with excellent communication skillsBasic IT skills (email, Word, Excel)Positive attitude and motivational leadership skillsKnowledge of health 'safety proceduresWe Offer: Competitive salary (to be discussed upon application)5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays and birthday offEarly finish on FridayIf you’re a proactive leader with technical expertise and a passion for engineering, we would love to hear from you.To apply, please send your CV to
