Whether youre seeking a role with greater autonomy, a more balanced on-call rota, or clear progression toward qualification, we can match you with a team that fits your career goals.The RoleAs a Police Station Accredited Crime Paralegal, youll be the first point of contact for clients in custody, providing essential legal advice and representation at the police station. Youll also support solicitors in managing ongoing criminal matters, preparing case files, and liaising with key agencies including the police, CPS, and courts.Key ResponsibilitiesAttend police stations (both in person and remotely) to represent and advise clients following arrest or detention.Prepare detailed attendance notes, case summaries, and documentation for solicitors and counsel.Assist with ongoing casework in magistrates and Crown Court matters.Ensure full compliance with LAA, SRA, and firm-specific policies.Participate in on-call rotas, with enhanced pay for unsocial hours.RequirementsPolice Station Accreditation (PST) essential.Proven experience advising clients at the police station and handling criminal matters.Strong written and verbal communication skills.The ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload.Flexibility to cover out-of-hours calls (rota-based).Full UK driving licence and access to transport (advantageous).Whats on OfferCompetitive salary with overtime and out-of-hours pay.Opportunities across leading Legal Aid and privately funded firms.Structured career development and training support.Exposure to high-profile and varied criminal cases.Supportive working environments with long-term progression routes.
