Job Description Based: LondonSalary: Competitive and dependent on experienceFull Time with hybrid workingGlobal travel is a requirement of this roleINTERTANKO is seeking a dynamic and strategic Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function for a global industry association. Reporting to the Legal Director, you will drive the Associations commercial strategy, oversee data-led insights, and deliver highvalue services that support Members in optimising their commercial performance.In this influential role, you will manage the collection, analysis and interpretation of commercial data, developing benchmarking tools, performance systems, and high-quality reports that identify key trends and emerging issues. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a global network of commercial operators, analysts and data providers, ensuring Members receive accurate, relevant and actionable commercial intelligence. As a trusted adviser, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, contribute to strategic initiatives, and represent the Association at international forums, conferences and meetings. You will also act as Secretary to the Commercial and Markets Committee. All commercial activities must be carried out in full compliance with the Associations Competition Law Guidelines, data protection requirements, and ethical standards.The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial insight and strategic thinking, with the ability to interpret complex market dynamics and identify opportunities that deliver value to Members. This will include assessing commercial and trade implications that arise from regulatory and geopolitical developments.They should be highly analytical, confident working with large data sets and benchmarking tools, and capable of transforming complex information into clear, engaging reports and executivelevel insights. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain relationships across a global network of industry contacts. The role requires someone who can manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously, work collaboratively across legal, technical and operational teams, and apply sound judgement in a regulated environment with strict confidentiality and competition law considerations.Candidates will have a background in commercial and chartering operations within the maritime sector and ideally have experience in commercial or market analysis, business intelligence or strategy where commercial, legal and operational issues intersect.
