General Adviser Hours: 37 Hours per week Salary: £24,335 per annum Job Type: Permanent Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays & five office closure days (3 at Christmas and two in the summer) Location: Hybrid Great Yarmouth (3 days/week) & remote (2 days/week) Pension: 4.5% Contribution The Role: We’re looking for a compassionate and confident General Adviser to join our team at Norfolk Citizens Advice. You’ll give advice, providing essential support over the phone and face-to-face, on various issues to people facing financial hardship, housing problems, and rising energy costs. What you’ll do: · Deliver one-to-one advice face-to-face and by phone, on any advice area clients may come to us with regarding benefits, housing, finance, and crisis support · Offer clear, easy-to-understand advice to people facing complex challenges · Record case notes accurately using our digital system What we are looking for: We will provide full training; however, we will favour applicants who demonstrate the following experience: · Strong communication skills · Confidence using IT and phone systems · A calm, problem-solving approach · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Experience in advice, call handling, or support work (desirable, not essential) We offer our staff: · Comprehensive training to become an accredited Adviser. · Ongoing support and professional development · 4.5% employer pension contribution · Opportunity for flexible working · 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays and five office closure days (3 at Christmas and two in the summer) The deadline for submission is Thursday, 23rd October 2025.
