Road Surfacing Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Road Surfacing Supervisor to join our Midlands team at Tarmac. This key role will effectively manage surfacing schemes including all mobile plant Foreperson, Operatives and any subcontractors. You will also lead planning and execution of all works daily ensuring SHE protocols and procedures are followed whilst overseeing the safe and efficient management of various sites. This role is easily accessible from Wolverhampton, Sedgley, Dudley, Walsall, West Bromwich, Birmingham, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Cannock, Telford, Stafford, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry and the surrounding areas. Main Responsibilities As Road Surfacing Supervisor you will be managing surfacing schemes using aggregates and asphalts across a region both on motorway and local networks. This role ensures all programmes are completed with the highest standards of safety in place and financial contribution is maximised. The role of Road Surfacing Supervisor will also include: Management and development of the team, appraising and agreeing SMART objectives for site operatives and motivating them to achieve the highest level of performance Communicating effectively daily with gang/ Foreperson carrying out daily briefings Managing site operations to ensure works are completed to the highest standard, complying with contract specification and preventing remedial action Maximising operational effectiveness and efficiency understanding how a contract has been priced and agreeing and reviewing teams targets to maximise profitability Efficient allocation and supervision of resources, plant staff and subcontractors to ensure delivery of contracts Communicate effectively, developing relationships with internal and external customers in relation to all site requirements Continuously reviewing and improving methods to reduce materials and waste on site including control of any remedial action required Communicating and implementing all area initiatives to deliver local targets and optimising cost control and operational efficiency to achieve agreed budget Conduct Weekly Programme meeting and monthly Supervisors meetings Ensuring Health and Safety policies and procedures are always adhered to by all on site The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for the role of Road Surfacing Supervisor will possess blacktop experience as well as experience managing surfacing schemes using aggregates and asphalts across a region both on motorway and local networks.
