We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our Toolroom team. The role involves manufacturing, maintaining, and improving tooling and ancillary equipment used in the manufacture, assembly, and testing in the UK and overseas.Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.Salary & Benefits34,000 - 38,000 per year, depending on experienceStable, permanent positionOpportunity to work within a well-established engineering and manufacturing environmentInvolvement in varied tooling, maintenance, and project workSupportive team with development opportunitiesShift Pattern(Current pattern - flexibility required as this may change)Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 12:30pm / 1:00pm - 4:45pmFriday: 7:45am - 12:30pmKey ResponsibilitiesManufacture, maintain, and repair tooling, jigs, fixtures, and work-holding equipmentSupport planned maintenance, breakdowns, and tool orders to ensure timely completionMaintain tooling and equipment used by OperationsProvide day-to-day support to production for manufacturing, maintenance, and quality issuesWork closely with Tool Design to ensure effective tooling solutionsFeedback improvements and defects to Operations and Process EngineeringEnsure all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures are followedSupport projects and continuous improvement activityAssist with supervising and training apprentices or toolroom assistantsSkills & Experience (Essential)Experience working in a production or manufacturing environmentProven experience in tool, jig, fixture, and work-holding manufactureTime-served engineer or completed mechanical apprenticeshipQualified to a minimum of ONC or equivalent NVQGood knowledge of manufacturing engineeringStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to work independently xjdpvnf and as part of a teamBasic computer skills and good organisational skillsStrong understanding of Health & Safety practicesDesirableExperience manufacturing press toolsExperience with CNC and conventional machining methodsKnowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Why)Problem-solving skills and ability to train othersAbility to deputise for the Toolroom Team Leader when requiredHow to ApplyIf you are an experienced Toolmaker looking for a hands-on role within a stable engineering environment, please apply with your CV.
