Job DescriptionGibsons Engineering, a leading train manufacturing, maintenance and repairs facility based at the world famous St Rollox rail depot in Springburn, Glasgow.As a premier train manufacturing, maintenance and repair firm, we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, technological prowess and dedication to advancing the future of rail transportation.At Gibsons Engineering, our mission is clear: to design, engineer and produce cutting-edge trains that redefine the standards of safety, efficiency and sustainability within the industry.Due to securing a contract with one of the countries leading transport providers, we have a number of roles we are looking to fill.We are looking to recruit experienced Welder/Fabricators to work at our Glasgow depot, these will be Full time roles, and as well as continuous work, we can offer an immediate start.The job will involve;Performing MIG and TIG welding and fabrication tasks on various materials including AluminiumDelivering high-quality welding and fabrication work in line with instructions from Supervisors and the Production ManagerComplying with all Health & Safety regulations and internal policies, including proper use of PPEInterpreting drawings and taking precise measurementsOperate hand tools, power tools and machinery, i.e. bandsaws/ metalworker for cutting, grinding, and shaping metalFabricate components from sheet metal according to technical drawingsSkills: Proficient in welding techniques, particularly MIG welding Strong mechanical knowledge to assemble fabricated parts accurately Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurementsPerform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards.Maintain a clean and organised work environment.This is an exciting time to join us at the beginning of our journey, and, help shape our future.In return we can offer;Salary of 36,500Company PensionDiscounts on group services.
