Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)Salary Competitive with Industry leading benefitsA leading EPC specialist in turnkey substation delivery is looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to join its UK team. This role covers full project lifecycle from tendering through to construction and handover.Responsibilities:Lead civil and structural design, review drawings, calculations, and documentationSupervise civil designers, resolve site queries, remedial works, and snagsSupport CDM and Temporary Works dutiesEnsure compliance with UK Building Regulations and industry standardsEvaluate subcontractors and contribute to tender documentationLiaise with UK Transmission System Operators and major utilitiesDevelop project requirements, budgets, and delivery plansMonitor costs, report on progress, and implement cost-effective solutionsSupport contract negotiations, manage change orders, and resolve disputesRequirements:Extensive experience on large-scale infrastructure or substation projectsStrong civil/structural design capability and project cost controlKnowledge of UK Transmission System Operators and utility environmentsBachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldMember of a recognized professional institution; Chartered Engineer desirablePersonal qualities:Resilient, proactive, and self-disciplinedStrong leadership, assertive but a good listenerCommercially aware and solutions-focusedOffer:Hybrid workingInvolvement in high-value EPC projectsOpportunity to shape engineering standards and project deliveryConfidential applications are handled by our recruitment partner on behalf of the client.Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
