Job Title Planning DirectorWorking Relationships & ContactsClient - account management, communicate and negotiate to assure service levels and develop opportunities across sectorsCommunity - line manager/team leader/SME and service capability or community or practice lead, growing capabilityProject team - leading a multi-disciplinary team across one or more projects, delivering value, co-ordinating and liasing with client and third parties to ensure effective delivery for client and businessJob Purpose Direct and manage the delivery of project controls for complex projects, managing relationships with senior stakeholders, and providing a leadership role to project controls teams. They are responsible for ensuring all work and outputs are executed to meet business plans and goals. Develop and grow community capabilities and lead client account plans for the community and/or capability. Engage in industry development of good practice.Key AccountabilitiesLead an operational team, setting objectives, managing performance and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to deliver their objectivesTranslate business objectives into operational financial targets, producing clearly defined business cases and taking responsibility for meeting the profit and budgetary targets of the projectLead the implementation of complex multi-disciplinary teams, working to mid-long term timescales, to ensure delivery standards meet expectationsMonitor and review the performance and behaviour of all team members, including educating and influencing others, and take action to ensure organisational policies and codes of conduct are followed. Assure compliance with contracts in terms of delivery parameters and scope of serviceAnalyse and review complex information from a range of data sources in order to identify how different options may impact project delivery and advise clients and internal stakeholders on potential implicationsDevelop project controls processes and policies and lead the implementation of system improvements, ensuring developments are in line with strategic business objectivesManage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration, to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfactionAct as a technical expert, providing strategic advice to other senior managers in order to support successful delivery of multiple projects or programmes in line with account plan objectives and strategiesManage and build relationships with clien project sponsors/stakeholders in order to ensure all parties are informed and aware of progress and are aligned to meet objectivesDimensions of the jobFinancial - working within budgets up to £500,000Client - engagement leading multiple project teams and/or client accountsProject - able to lead teams on projects in excess of £100m, or as part of a leadership team on major projects or programmesPeople - technical and leadership coaching, line and task management for colleagues at Level 3-9Knowledge & ExperienceRelevant management/leadership experience including experience of managing teams on complex projectsand programmesProven ability to manage, motivate and lead teamsLeading management expert within area of specialismIndustry experience in thought leadershipExperience of managing business relationships at executive levelKey QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalentRelevant professional qualification or chartered status#J-18808-Ljbffr
