OverviewFire, Emergency and Security Systems Trainer– We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to deliver high-quality teaching and support to apprentices, developing the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the industry. Whether you are an experienced trainer or an industry expert ready to take the next step into teaching, we will provide the training and qualifications to help you thrive in this role. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Curriculum Lead in planning and designing the curriculum to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that Apprentices need to successfully achieve end point assessment Deliver high-quality Teaching and Learning (classroom delivery) Undertake Initial Assessment activities (including assessment of prior learning) in accordance with the quality procedure Assist learners in the preparation and development of a Training Plan identifying areas of current competence and agreeing and recording targets for achievement Undertake Progress Reviews at least every 12 weeks Develop professional working relationships with employers at operational and strategic levels ensuring they are aware of the full range of Access services and brands Assist management and colleagues in undertaking an annual self-assessment of the company against the Educational Inspection Framework (EIF) Work with others to ensure that learners, staff and other customers are treated with respect and consideration and that they are free from any form of harassment or discrimination Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C including Maths and English, or equivalent 5 years’ experience in a fire, electrical and / or security engineer’s role Qualified to Level 3 or above in Fire, Electrical or Electronic discipline Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate others Excellent organisational and time-management skills A good team player A good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, e-tools and e-portfolio platforms A commitment to continued professional development Full clean driving licence with the use of a vehicle Recent experience of teaching Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Apprenticeships Hold a recognised Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards Hold an Assessor qualification, or working towards (D32/33, A1, TAQA) Applicants are encouraged to provide a cover letter to explain their interest in the role BenefitsA strong, friendly, positive culture where all staff and learners are valued and appreciated Strong progression opportunities; in the last 12 months, over 20% of our employees have either had promotions or have seen significant increases in their responsibilities Commitment to qualifications and continuous professional development – over 45% of our employees are working towards or have achieved a formal qualification in the last 24 months Flexible working arrangements with regards to home working / working hours A financial allowance to improve your home working environment 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service, plus a guaranteed week over the Christmas holidays Enhanced maternity/adoption and paternity pay Commitment to providing summer paid work placements for employee’s teenage family members Regular staff social events Equal OpportunityAt Access Training we are committed to providing equal opportunities in all aspects of employment.
