Role Purpose We are seeking a dynamic and commercially-mindedProcurement Managerto take full ownership of the procurement function. You will be responsible for developing and leading our procurement function across all key product and service lines, managing supplier relationships, and be part of the business development program to integrate and evolve the company ERP system. You will also lead thewarehouse teamand aProcurement Coordinator, ensuring streamlined stock management, inventory control, and just-in-time delivery to support our high-performance installation teams. Key Responsibilities Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management Lead procurement strategy across all renewable energy solutions, including solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, batteries, EV chargers, and electrical components. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective and reliable supply chains. Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing agreements to deliver cost savings without compromising on quality or delivery. Monitor market trends, material availability and risk factors to ensure supply continuity and competitive advantage. Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, price volatility, quality control issues, and product performance failures Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers, rigorously assessing their quality management systems, manufacturing processes, product certifications. Ensure adherence to technical, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as ethical sourcing guidelines. Inventory, Logistics & Warehouse Oversight Manage the warehouse function, ensuring effective inventory control, goods-in/out processes and timely order fulfilment. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to forecast and plan procurement needs aligned to project schedules. Drive improvements in stock accuracy, warehouse layout and logistics coordination. Monitor and report on stock levels, lead times and material usage. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against agreed KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for quality (e.g., defect rates, warranty claims), delivery, cost, and service, implementing corrective actions as needed. Leadership & People Management Provide day-to-day leadership and development to the warehouse team and Procurement Coordinator. Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement. Implement performance metrics, training plans, performance KPIs and team development initiatives. Commercial & Operational Impact Support budgeting and cost forecasting for materials across all projects. Reporting project delivery performance into the operations team to ensure efficient delivery or the project. Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and procurement efficiencies. Work closely with the Finance and Delivery teams to align procurement with business goals and delivery timelines. Provide live updates and manage supply chain risks and opportunities to the operational delivery team. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Operations) to forecast procurement needs and align strategies with project timelines and budgets Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, ideally in construction, renewable energy, or electrical sectors. Strong negotiation and commercial skills with a track record of supplier optimisation. Experience managing warehouse or inventory operations. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coach and develop a small but capable team. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Strong proficiency in IT systems, including advanced Excel skills and with a proven track record of effectively utilising procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Minimum of CIPS level 3 or equivalent Desirable Qualifications & Attributes Knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage or electrical components.
