We are seeking an enthusiastic Transport Office Administrator to join our team.With over 60 years in the haulage industry, Ferguson Transport & Shipping provides a comprehensive range of distribution services throughout the Highlands and across the UK. We are currently recruiting for an Office Administrator (full or part-time) to join the Traffic Office at our Logistics Hub in Annat, Fort William. Purpose of Job To help within the Traffic Office and assist with answering phone calls, communicating with drivers and ensuring accurate information is passed onto traffic planners, general office filing and administration. Ensure the company policies relating to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) are complied with and upheld at all times Ensure that other relevant company and department policies and procedures are complied with and upheld at all time. Working as part of a dynamic team, duties will include: Being a member of the transport team; liaising regularly with the rest of the team Working within a busy office environment Providing First point of contact for queries via telephone and in person Answer phone calls and dealing with enquiries as they come in including email enquiries Ensure all enquiries are recorded on the enquiries spreadsheet Take and pass messages from drivers to traffic planners General traffic office administration, copying and filing Daily working with data spreadsheets such as trailer boards, empty running’s and daily lorry counts Daily input to the Haulier system –Training on this and other internal systems will be provided Liaising with Transport Planners & Managers daily Providing administrative support and assistance Maintenance of records/ updating internal IT systems The post is ideally suited for an experienced administrator, however training will be provided for the right candidate. The successful candidate will ideally have: A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly excel, A good telephone manner and the ability to prioritise their workload. Superb time management and organizational skills. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities Great problem-solving and analytical skills.
