Job Description EC&I Technician Industrial Process PlantOverviewA large-scale industrial process plant is seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of the plant.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the EC&I Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, instrumentation and control systems that support critical plant operations.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance & InstallationInstall, inspect, calibrate and repair instrumentation, analysers and control systemsMaintain electrical equipment including motors, generators, turbine control systems and auxiliary equipmentCarry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the plantFault Finding & DiagnosticsDiagnose and troubleshoot faults within PLC and DCS control systemsIdentify electrical, instrumentation and control faults and implement effective repairsSupport plant reliability through timely response to breakdowns and system issuesTechnical WorkInterpret schematics, technical drawings and OEM manualsPlan and execute maintenance work in line with plant proceduresEnsure equipment operates efficiently and within operational parametersDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentationEnsure all work is completed in accordance with site HSE proceduresSupport continuous improvement and plant reliability initiativesQualificationsRecognised Engineering Apprenticeship in Electrical, Instrumentation or similar disciplineIOSH Managing Safely or similar safety qualification preferredHNC/HND in Engineering desirableTechnical training in instrumentation, automation or control systems advantageousExperienceApproximately 5 years experience as an EC&I or Instrumentation TechnicianExperience working in industrial, power generation or process plant environmentsStrong knowledge of transmitters, control valves, analysers and calibration processesExperience working with PLC and DCS control systemsGood understanding of safe plant operations and HSE requirements
