Job Description Import Forwarding Clerk (Deep Sea & Customs)Location: FelixstoweSalary: c30,000 p/aAbout the CompanyOur client is a long-established and highly respected freight forwarder in Felixstowe, known for strong customer relationships and a supportive team environment.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Import Forwarding Clerk with solid deepsea import and customs clearance experience. The ideal candidate will be positive, confident, and comfortable dealing with new clients, including supporting light sales activity.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle full deepsea import operations, from booking to delivery.Prepare documentation: bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, arrivals.Complete accurate customs entries via CDS and ensure compliance.Communicate proactively with customers and resolve shipment issues.Engage confidently with new clients and support quoting and basic sales tasks.Skills & Experience23 years deepsea import forwarding experience.Strong customs knowledge (CDS, classifications, duty calculations).Confident communicator with a friendly, positive approach.Organised, detailfocused, and able to build strong client relationships.ITproficient across freight systems and MS Office.Personal AttributesProfessional, upbeat, and customerfocused.Comfortable speaking with new clients.Teamoriented with a proactive attitude.BenefitsCompetitive salary.Opportunity to join a stable, wellestablished Felixstowe company.Supportive team and development opportunities
