Job Description Senior Transport Planner Location: Felixstowe Salary: Up to 55k The OpportunityA well-established and growing logistics operator is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join their high-performing transport team.This is a key role within the business, responsible for overseeing daily planning operations, managing drivers, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across major UK ports. Youll play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, supporting the planning team, and maintaining strong customer relationships in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily transport planning across key UK ports (including Felixstowe, London Gateway, and Southampton)Manage vehicle allocation to ensure maximum utilisation, revenue, and service performanceLead, support, and develop a team of planners and driversEnsure all operational issues are resolved efficiently and proactivelyManage VBS bookings and ensure accuracy across all port systemsMaintain strong communication with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholdersTravel between depots as required to support operationsWhat Were Looking ForMinimum 5 years experience in transport planning (container / haulage preferred)At least 2 years experience in a senior or supervisory planning roleStrong knowledge of UK ports and VBS systemsProven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressureStrong communication and customer-facing abilityHighly organised with strong attention to detailIT literate with experience in transport systems
