Principal Engineer- Data Assurance

Your purpose As a member of the Quality Assurance capability leadership and a quality specialist in Data Assurance, you will lead the team's data assurance capability. You will be the voice and visionary of Data Quality and Test Data Management enablement and governance. You will set the vision and create the environment that enables the teams to deliver high quality outcomes at sustainable speed. Accountable for the capabilities and engagement that enable technology delivery teams to; Assure any data management, migration, transformation, or ingestion/extraction processes in an effective way. Understand and manage risk of data integrity cross system and platform. Support creation, maintenance and use of safe and controlled data sets which facilitate all quality and assurance activities. Driving clear visibility, innovation, availability and education of the need for and usage of owned capabilities, across a broad range of stakeholders both internally and externally. Managing the development and deployment of specialist resources that can consult, support and embed the most effective assurance of data transformation, movement or analytics utilising the capabilities provided. Ensuring alignment and enabling of the wider capabilities throughout Engineering and the SDLC. Your role Capability Ownership Maintain a visible, clear, and well-communicated roadmap for the capability, Develop a cross-delivery practice to support input and learning for the capability. Define, own, and enhance the required processes, supporting tools, and materials to enable data assurance and test data management. Discover, identify, adopt, and maintain industry best practices in data testing and assurance. Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the capabilities meet the data assurance and test data management needs. Oversee capacity planning and resource management of capability specialist resources. Delivery Enabling Lead consultancy efforts to address QA and delivery needs for large-scale data-centric activities and test data requirements. Manage and maintain tools that enable delivery teams to efficiently utilize data set capabilities, emphasizing cost-effective, self-service solutions.. Ensure delivery resources are well-informed about and have access to the necessary capabilities for effective project delivery. Monitor and address suboptimal delivery practices, escalating issues when they do not meet expected standards. Maintain a visual representation of the maturity of owned capabilities and practices across delivery teams. Managerial Manage direct reports development and performance against role and expectations. Manage Third party suppliers of both resources and tools consumed by the capability. Support ongoing team development and administration Maintain an ongoing budget and its tracking for the capability What you'll bring Essential Skills include Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish trust with diverse stakeholders. Possesses a technical mindset with the capacity to articulate outcomes and value effectively Extensive experience with a broad range of delivery methodologies. Proven track record in working with complex multi-channel systems. In-depth understanding of continuous integration processes. Desirable Skills include Experience working with multiple cloud and infrastructure solutions Experience of working on large data transformation or migration programmes.
