Job Description Systems Integration & Verification EngineerPosition: Systems Integration & Verification EngineerType: Contract (Outside IR35)Clearance: SCLocation: On-site, 5 days per week (UK)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Systems Integration & Verification Engineer to support a secure technology programme within the defence domain. The successful engineer will have experience across the full systems lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on the right-hand side of the V-Model (Verification, Validation, Qualification & Acceptance).This position involves hands-on interaction with complex system environments including networking, infrastructure, Unix/Linux and mission-critical integration platforms.Due to the sensitive and secure nature of the work, as well as the requirement to operate and integrate directly with physical systems and secure infrastructure, this role requires the engineer to be onsite 5 days per week. The work will be conducted in secure lab and operational environments where remote access is not feasible or permitted.ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Integration & Verification Engineer will be responsible for:Planning and executing system verification, validation and acceptance activitiesDefining test strategies, verification methods and acceptance criteriaPerforming system integration in secure lab or operational environmentsDeveloping and maintaining test procedures, reports and documentationSupporting defect investigation and traceability processesEngaging with engineering, operations and customer-facing stakeholdersSupporting readiness assessments and acceptance milestonesManaging and operating test environments across networking and infrastructure layersEnsuring conformance to requirements, standards and compliance obligationsKey RequirementsEssential:Experience in systems verification, validation, system integration, or system test rolesStrong understanding of the systems V-Model lifecycle, particularly V&V activitiesSolid hands-on experience with Networking & InfrastructureProficiency with Unix and Linux environmentsExperience in secure, mission-critical or defence-related environmentsAbility to work full-time on customer premises (5 days per week) due to the nature of the work and secure environment requirementsStrong reporting and documentation capabilityDesirable:Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama)Exposure to accreditation, qualification or test acceptance processesExperience working with integration labs, simulation environments or ground systemsSoft SkillsAnalytical, detail-oriented and systematic thinkerEffective communicator with multi-disciplinary teamsComfortable managing complex technical test campaignsStrong problem-solving and fault-finding approachOther titles that may be relevant for this position;Systems Integration Engineer, Verification Engineer, Validation Engineer, Systems Test Engineer, Integration and Test Engineer, Systems Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer, Defence Systems Engineer, Secure Systems Engineer, Network Integration Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Unix/Linux Systems Engineer, Test and Evaluation Engineer, Systems Qualification Engineer, Mission-Critical Systems Engineer, Systems Acceptance Engineer, Systems Lifecycle Engineer, Systems Validation Specialist, Systems Test and Integration Specialist, Defence Technology Engineer, Secure Technology Engineer, Systems Engineering Specialist, Test Environment Engineer, Systems Compliance Engineer
