Job Description KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and is seeking a Sub Agent to join the Water Retain Barrier (WRB) Team.Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.Your teamLocation: Devonport Dockyard, PlymouthContract: Permanent, 42.5 hours a weekMaking PossibleAs a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the following:Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercialstaff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and clientrepresentativesMaintaining high personal standards and behaviour in health and safety, environmental and supportingothers in the sameLeading, supervising and mentoring your reportees and other team membersMonitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods,identifying shortfalls and devising mitigation to minimise programme impactsMaintaining good working relations with client, delivery teams, support teams, supply chain andothersAssist with the monthly and quarterly commercial forecast and reporting for your areas of projectEnsuring sufficient resources (labour, plant, materials and subcontractors) are procured and availablein sufficient time to deliver the activities within your area of responsibilityManaging the engineering team to ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before workcommencesReviewing and ensuring that Inspection and Test Plans and checklist are in place and being followedReviewing the daily diary records under your supervision to ensure a high standard of record keepingis being maintainedReviewing, authorising and ensuring written risk assessments and activity plans/method statementsare in place prior to works commencing for all activities within your area of responsibilityDevising site processes for maintaining records in line with client and KBJV requirements and ensuringthese are followed by other members of the teamManagement of subcontractorsSupport the agent as required in operating the cost management system, the production ofprogrammes and QF preparationCommunicate with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes areprepared promptly, in appropriate formAdopt and promote the use of BIM technologies to deliver the requirements of the project BIMExecution Plan (BEP)Communicate with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availabilityReview with the agent regularly the performance, development and training needs of subordinatestaff, including underperformance or potential resignationsFrom time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform othertasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities and, wherenecessary, training, and full support will be givenWhat do you bring to the role?Essential:Degree, HND, HNC, NVQ in Construction/Engineering/Logistics or equivalentProven track record in delivering construction/civils/logistics operationsCSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/ManagerSMSTS/ SSSTSManagement skills (control and management of employees)Commercially aware with excellent organisational skillsExcellent communication skills and customer focusedExcellent Interpersonal SkillsExcellent leadership and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailProactive approach to workWorking as part of a team to deliver objective of the department and projectEnthusiastic, Collaborative approachExperienced in lifting operationsDesirable:Qualified to ICE Incorporated level or equivalentTW supervisor or experience in TWExperience with RC/marine civils/steelwork/paint systemsExperience in relevant sector (ie Nuclear and Defence)Whats in it for you?Competitive salaryA wide range of family-friendly policiesCompany car/car allowance/travel allowance8 % matched pension contributionsPrivate healthcareLife assurance26 days holiday2 wellbeing days1 volunteering dayPersonal and professional developmentAbout BAMBuilding a sustainable tomorrow.
