Waste Operative

Kenect recruitment are seeking a dedicated Waste Operative LGV driver/loader in Exeter . Waste Operative LGV driver/loader Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00-14:00 Pay: 16.08 per hour Location: EX2 8NR Main Purpose To support the Waste Operations service through the safe, effective operation of Class C Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) or equivalent to load and transport controlled waste. Responsibilities To drive and load all waste collection vehicles on scheduled collection rounds as instructed and in accordance with the current team task and finish scheme. To ensure that all collections are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures. To ensure the vehicle is in good working order and cleanliness is upheld. To oversee the crew, ensuring that all matters are escalated appropriately. To assist the loaders with the collection and emptying of bins and sacks. Required to work 5 days out of 7 days, including some Saturdays to catch-up with collections after bank holidays or severe weather disruptions. Requirements Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively. Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting heavy loads as required. A valid Class 1 licence, DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence), Digital Tachograph Card and a maximum of 6 points. Must have own safety boots. TPBN1_UKTJ
