Job Description Maintenance Engineer?? Exeter?? 45,000?? 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights 6am6pm / 6pm6am)We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing operation based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who is also comfortable carrying out mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced industrial environment.Working a 4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern, you will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous production.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry outplanned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond effectively to breakdowns to maximise plant uptimeEnsure machinery is returned to operation quickly and safely following faultsSupport long-term maintenance planning alongside the Engineering Team Manager (ETM)Perform routine maintenance on boilers and associated systemsMaintain and monitor pressure systems, including steam, condensate, and compressed airEnsure all plant is safely isolated for maintenance, cleaning, and contractor workIssue and manage Permits to Work and Isolation Certificates in line with proceduresAssist and supervise contractors on site when requiredAccurately record all maintenance activities using internal systems and logsReport and manage spare parts usage to ensure availability for future repairsMaintain high housekeeping standards across the sitePromote a right first time approach to maintenance, implementing long-term solutionsAdhere to all Health & Safety legislation, including safe systems of work and risk assessmentsEnsure compliance with relevant regulations including Electricity at Work Regulations, LOLER, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001Support environmental initiatives, including spill response and preventionAssist production teams and contribute to ongoing site improvements About YouElectrically qualified with strong fault-finding skillsMechanically competent with hands-on maintenance experienceExperience working with boilers and steam systemsStrong understanding of health & safety practices, including COSHHA proactive, self-motivated team player with a positive attitudeExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyFirst Aid qualification (desirable) Whats on OfferCompetitive salary of 45,000Structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern providing a great work-life balanceOpportunity to join a stable and supportive engineering teamOngoing training and development opportunitiesJBRP1_UKTJ
