Job Description Electrical Engineering Manager SME Position Central Engineering either Junior or Senior Data Centres Critical Environment - Mission Critical Essex, Herts, Slough and EMEA Global 70,000 to 85,000 depending On experience Annual Bonus 10% - 15% plus Car allowance / Travel allowance / Salary Sacrifice Travel time from Main work Location Expenses and some mileage Pension 25 Days Holiday Health care Career development Travel in the UK and Abroad 25% Fantastic Opportunity As Senior Electrical Engineering Manager or More Junior Electrical Engineer Manager you will be part of our Central Engineering and part of and leading a group of Electrical Engineers. As subject matter experts (SME's) you and your team and you will be responsible for all electrical systems in your area of responsibility. You will be acting as an interface to our Data Centre Operations, Design teams, OEM's and to our customers. Authoring and deploying Electrical Safety Rules will be part of your remit along ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and reliability and securing the delivery to the highest standard. You will be reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer - EMEA.What you will doResponsible for the management and development in Electrical Engineering for UK and Western Europe (UK, Netherlands, Spain, France) India etc Managing, developing and expanding the Electrical Engineering Team, including workload managementEnsure time management and quality delivery from different stakeholdersClient-oriented strong stakeholder management, providing frequent updates (externally, internally) to ensure continuous clarityConduct thorough root-cause analysis and implement lessons learned to drive continuous improvementInvolvement in training development for electrical systems, ensuring adherence to company standards and regional requirementsActing as 2nd and 3rd level escalation for electrical and control issuesProvide SOP/EOP development, approve drafts, and provide approvals for MOP, SOP, and EOP within the CAB processResponsibility for managing and writing electrical safety rules for the area of responsibility, ensuring the electrical safety and harmonization through the company standardsServe as a sparring partner for Design, External Consultants, and OEMs, leveraging strong technical expertise to ensure effective collaboration and innovative solutionsWhat we are looking forBachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering, HND, HNC or a related field such as other mission critical engineering environments. Proven leadership experience, managing a team of electrical engineers and apprenticesExperienced in leading a technical function within a mission critical environment and being very customer facing and focussedExtensive electrical engineering, maintenance, commissioning and safety standards experience in Data Centre or other mission critical sector is essentialPrevious experience as a High Voltage Authorising Engineer (HV AE)Detailed technical knowledge of the type of large-scale electrical systems, including HV, LV, UPS, Standby Power and related electrical systems and BMS/EMS and control systemsProficient knowledge in discrimination, short circuit and arc flash studies is desirableProven track record of electrical optimization and efficiency improvements, preferably in Data CentresExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to conduct root-cause analysis and implement lessons learnedExperience in developing and delivering training programsFamiliarity with SOP/EOP development and the CAB processAbility to act as an escalation point for complex electrical and control issuesStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvementC Eng Status or being in progress to achieveFluent in English; additional languages relevant to the region (e.g., Dutch, Spanish, French, German) are a plusWillingness to travel regularly nationally and internationally (up to 25%)
