Job Description Role: Business Systems Analyst (Insurance)Location: Wickford, 2 days a week onsiteSalary: 50,000-90,000 depending on experienceA UK-based software provider for the insurance sector are seeking a flexible, technically capable Business Systems Analyst to join their team. The role blends business analysis, system configuration, SQL scripting, and report development, often in client-facing projects. The role will fluctuate between hands-on technical work (Systems Analysis) and Business Analysis, so it is essential that you can be flexible and show ability in both areas.Responsibilities:Systems Analysis:Configuring their systems to meet client specifications using SQLBuilding SQL queries and using SQL to report on and modify databasesDetailed SQL scriptingCreating documentation and MIS Reports using Report Builder tools (eg Crystal & MS Report Builder)Working closely with developers and end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfactionBusiness Analysis:Client-facing work to determine requirements, estimate costs, produce project feasibility reports, present solutions/proposalsTranslating client requirements into high specified project documents Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitabilityDrawing up testing schedules for the product/model testingWriting user manuals and providing training to users of the systemExperience & Education:Several years experience in software development, IT analysis, or insurance systemsKnowledge of the insurance lifecycle and database applicationsStrong SQL skills and experience with reporting tools (Crystal Reports, MS Report Builder)Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skillsAbility to understand business and technical processesExcellent communication and documentation skillsProactive, autonomous, and responsible for project deliveryCompetent with standard office IT tools
