Health & Safety Manager Essex 65,000 75,000 Package Leading UK Main Contractor A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading construction main contractor, delivering major commercial and industrial projects across the region. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring projects operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with UK legislation. The Role As the Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of all site safety activity across multiple projects in Essex, ensuring best practice is upheld at all times. You will act as the key point of contact for all H&S matters, driving a positive safety culture and ensuring teams remain compliant with company policies and statutory obligations. Key Responsibilities Ensure all projects remain in a safe, compliant condition at all times Implement and maintain company Health & Safety policies to prevent injury, ill health, damage, and wastage Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements affecting construction operations Promote the companys H&S policy and ensure full workforce understanding Conduct regular site safety inspections, recording findings and reporting to Site Managers and Directors Ensure all actions from previous reports are completed within required timescales Challenge and address any unsafe behaviour or failure to meet safety responsibilities Support Project Managers with accident investigations and produce timely close-out reports Deliver site inductions for operatives and subcontractors Ensure suitable site welfare, setup and statutory notices are in place and maintained Oversee permit-to-work processes, ensuring they are completed correctly Ensure COSHH compliance and appropriate storage Review RAMS and verify suitability for tasks carried out Carry out any reasonable H&S-related tasks requested by senior leadership Skills & Experience Required NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential) Previous experience working on UK construction sites Full, clean driving licence Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation Ability to interpret legislation and apply it practically on-site Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels Strong organisational and time-management skills Confidence working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Logical decision-making ability and high attention to detail Package Salary: 65,000 75,000 Comprehensive package including vehicle/allowance, pension, healthcare & more Career development opportunities within a major UK main contractor55b20050-bc17-4e5d-bfce-3c406318dffc
