Band 6 - Senior Employee Relations AdvisorWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor on a permanent basis. Your role will be to support, advise, and guide all aspects of people management matters and mentor junior staff. You will work closely with the Employee Relations Specialist, providing expert advice and support specifically to employees in your capacity as a Senior Employee Relations Advisor. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality people management advice and guidance to employees, ensuring compliance with RFL Trust policies and procedures. This includes handling sensitive matters, coaching, and responding to staff queries via face-to-face interactions, emails, MS Teams, and telephone. You will develop strategies for managing staff sickness, absence, and other people management policies as part of proactive management. Flexibility is required; as the role supports all hospital sites, regular on-site presence and cross-site travel are expected. Person SpecificationRoyal Free World Class ValuesDemonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values Education & QualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalent, normally gained through extensive professional experience within an HR environment Graduate CIPD qualification ExperienceEmployee relations experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary, and culturally diverse organization Experience in a customer-facing environment Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and compliance risks Advising managers on complex individual and collective conflict situations, including disciplinary, capability, and grievance issues Supporting organizational change initiatives Experience working in a multi-union environment Understanding of employee relations best practices Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions of Service, including Agenda for Change Experience with HR systems such as Oracle Experience preparing Employment Tribunal documentation Ability to plan and organize work effectively Providing direct support to managers on complex case management issues Strong written and oral communication skills Analytical skills to interpret complex information and recommend solutions Advising managers on case management related to terms, discipline, capability, grievances, or change management Influencing and negotiation skills Personal AttributesResilience in challenging situations High levels of personal influence Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
