The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of the project, supporting setting out, engineering coordination and quality assurance while working closely with site management and subcontractors.The position would suit an engineer who enjoys technical detail, problem-solving and collaboration, and who wants to contribute to the successful delivery of complex RC frame construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesHealth, Safety, Environment & SustainabilitySupport the delivery of project HSES targets and ensure safe working practices are maintained on siteDemonstrate an understanding of HSES regulations and communicate best practice to the workforceEngineering & Construction DeliveryInterpret engineering drawings and technical information, communicating this effectively to the site teamProduce mark-ups, sketches, and calculations to support site activitiesMaintain accurate site diaries and engineering recordsProvide technical feedback on project elements including materials, subcontractors and design informationSetting Out & Survey ControlCarry out setting out and dimensional control for sections of the projectProduce as-built survey records for project documentationEstablish and maintain site control using primary control pointsManage and maintain survey equipment ensuring calibration complianceDesign Coordination & Technical InformationInterrogate design information and raise RFIs or technical queries where requiredEnsure all engineering documentation on site is current and approved for constructionQuality AssuranceAssist in delivering the project Quality Plan and assurance targetsConduct site inspections and resolve minor quality issuesInterpret specifications and assist in developing and implementing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)Maintain permit-to-work documentation in line with project requirementsProject SupportProvide material quantity information and call-offsAssist with plant and logistics planningSupport temporary works coordination and inspectionsMonitor programme progress and raise potential variations with senior or commercial teamsAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you should have:HNC or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Structural EngineeringProven experience delivering setting out and engineering activities on RC frame or concrete construction projectsStrong knowledge of surveying and dimensional control techniquesExperience using CAD software for data transfer to/from survey equipment (EDM or similar)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specificationsExperience mentoring junior engineers within a site environmentStrong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solvingApplyIf you are a Site Engineer looking to join a technically focused project team in Edinburgh, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.Apply today or contact Pertemps Engineering Division for a confidential discussion.
