As a Goldsmith here at Hamilton & Inches, you will be based in our Jewellers workshop. Following an extensive renovation in 2020/21, our Jewellers workshop combines long established manufacturing methods with a modern space to encourage creativity and collaboration. You will work closely with our Workshop Manager and within our team of Goldsmiths, Engravers, and Silversmiths in an environment where individuality and talent is celebrated. The RoleAs a Senior Goldsmith, you will bring your expert craftsmanship to our jewellery workshop, playing a key role in repairs, the production of special commissions and creation of new collections. You will work closely with the team and Workshop Manager to ensure the highest standards of quality are achieved for every piece. Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out jewellery repairs to Hamilton & Inches’ high standardsCollaborate with the Workshop Manager and other workshop team members to produce exceptional special commissionsDemonstrate leadership in projects with key input into design, materials, and production methods for custom work and new collectionsWork from detailed CAD designs or technical sketchesMeet with customers to discuss complex repairs and bespoke commissionsEstimate labour and materials for bespoke and repair workMentors and upskills other team members through training and leadershipMaintain detailed records of work undertaken, accounting for all materials used on jobsEnsure quality control processes are followed and all work meets internal specifications and standardsAdhere to Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe and well organised workshop environmentDemonstrate craftsmanship live in-store and represent the brand at select eventsUphold client confidentiality and represent the Hamilton & Inches brand with professionalism and care The Ideal CandidateMinimum 10 years of bench experience in Goldsmithing preferredExperience in setting diamonds and coloured stones essentialSkilled in working with gold, silver, and platinumConfident in repairs, resizing, re-tipping, re-polishing, and restoration of fine jewelleryExperience with bespoke production and high-value piecesKnowledge of diamonds and coloured gemstonesFamiliarity with laser welding and micro-setting preferredAbility to produce accurate costings and time estimatesStrong eye for detail and commitment to excellenceCollaborative team player, flexible, and works well to deadlinesCustomer-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills What We OfferWork in a prestigious, heritage brand environmentOpportunity to create one-of-a-kind, bespoke piecesCollaborate with passionate experts in a highly skilled workshopBe part of a team shaping the future of luxury jewellery craftsmanship in ScotlandCompetitive salary and benefits package
