Your new company You'll be joining a respected, specialist support service, dedicated to providing trauma informed, holistic support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.The service works in close partnership with local authority Family Safeguarding Teams, as well as mental health, probation, and children's services professionals, ensuring a coordinated, evidence based approach to improving safety and wellbeing for victims and their families. Your new role As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will play a key role within a multi-disciplinary Family Safeguarding Team, supporting parents and carers whose children are open to safeguarding interventions.You will: Hold and manage a caseload, completing risk assessments, safety plans and support plans. Provide trauma informed emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse. Work collaboratively with social workers and partner agencies to reduce risk and improve family outcomes. Deliver early identification and intervention, ensuring the voice of the victim is central in every care plan. Provide guidance and training to other professionals on recognising and responding to domestic abuse. Attend relevant multi-agency meetings, including CIN, CP, MARAC and TAF, contributing professional insight. Support families to access wider services such as housing, legal advice, benefits, education and wellbeing support. This is a varied, impactful and highly meaningful role where you will directly influence positive change in the lives of individuals and children experiencing domestic abuse.Please note: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required. An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken. Due to the nature of the role, this post is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1). What you'll need to succeed You will be a compassionate, resilient and motivated practitioner with: A minimum Level 3 qualification in a related field (desirable). Experience supporting vulnerable adults or children in a safeguarding capacity. Knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics, risk assessment and trauma informed practice. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively. The ability to build professional relationships, work collaboratively and maintain clear boundaries. Confidence working in emotionally demanding situations with empathy, professionalism and integrity. Competence with Microsoft Office and digital case management systems. Experience working specifically with domestic abuse victims, or within multi-agency safeguarding, is advantageous but not essential if you bring the right skills and values.
