I’m looking for a highly motivated Infrastructure Engineer seeking to make an immediate impact to the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 3rd line support to key business systems, services and users whilst assisting the IT Team.Working to ITIL principles, the successful candidate with ensure that all IT policies and procedures are maintained whilst proactively reviewing, evaluating and recommending new technologies so that the IT infrastructure can maintain the current and future business needs.The role will primarily be to support business operations, looking to identify opportunity and improvements to be made throughout the organisation. As the organisation is experiencing a period of sustained growth, systems need to expand alongside. A major part of this role will be to ensure we have capacity for future growth and to ensure the reliability, stability and recoverability of all our systems.Essential Experience, Qualifications & Person Spec:Excellent technical knowledge across Networking, Cloud and Hosting Technologies, Domain Services, Server operating systems, Storage, Virtualisation, Database Technologies, Endpoint Protection and the 365 stackExcellent Experience with cloud-based mail archiving (Mimecast)Excellent knowledge of Backup and Recovery Solutions spanning Hybrid environments.Excellent knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (Azure).Excellent knowledge in solutions such as Exchange, SQL Server and SharePoint.Excellent communication skills to convey complex architecture and solutions in technical and user-friendly terms.Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Strong knowledge of vendor licensing models.Experience with disaster recovery planning and simulation (or execution).Current driving licenseDesirable Experience & Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.IFS Apps 10Database Administration (Oracle / SQL Server)Disaster Recovery Technologies / MethodologiesOracle E-Business SuitePowerShellDevOpsPrinciple AccountabilitiesOversee the management of all existing IT Infrastructure including networks and promote a Continuous Improvement strategy.Oversee key cloud infrastructure and our virtual environment.Manage Windows and *Nix server estate management including setup, configuration, preventative maintenance and capacity planning.Manage the administration of email and messaging systems.Manage the maintenance and optimisation of the backup/recovery environment.Manage, Develop and Maintain documentation in line with ITIL requirements and the CMDB.Manage and maintain Oracle SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data integrity through regular patching, backups, tuning, and monitoring.Contribute to the proactive management of IT infrastructure to maximise system uptime.Contribute to Applications management including configuration and upgrades.Contribute to ensuring that security systems and measures remain appropriate to the threat landscape and collaborate with teams to resolve vulnerabilities.Contribute to the company Disaster Recovery infrastructure working alongside the Business Continuity & Emergency Recovery Team.Contribute to automating infrastructure tasks and support the deployment of new systems and applications.Timeous resolution of 3rd line support issues for key business systems on escalated problems.
