Position: Payments Operations Manager (Fintech)Sector: Fast-growing fintech companyLocation: Remote (London HQ)Contract Type: Permanent, full-timeCompensation: £80,000–£90,000 + performance-based bonusThe OpportunityWe’re partnering with an innovative fintech scale-up that is seeking an experienced Payments Operations Manager. This role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence across all payment flows, overseeing reconciliation, vendor partnerships, and control frameworks to ensure seamless, compliant processes. You’ll play a key role in building a scalable, efficient, and well-governed payments infrastructure.What You’ll DoTake ownership of end-to-end payment operations and reconciliation (spanning fiat and crypto).Design, implement, and continuously refine internal controls.Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners (payment service providers, custodians, vendors).Troubleshoot and resolve queries from both internal stakeholders and external partners.Track, analyse, and report operational performance metrics.Develop and mentor team members while fostering cross-functional collaboration.Drive initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and process improvement.Oversee and optimise a transparent, scalable fee framework.What We’re Looking ForEssential:Minimum 7 years’ experience in payments, operations, or transaction services within fintech, banking, or broader financial services.Strong expertise in reconciliations and operational controls.Proven vendor management skills with ability to resolve complex operational issues.Experience leading teams and working collaboratively across departments.Desirable:Familiarity with International Financial Systems (IFS).Exposure to crypto and digital asset payment processes.Background in fintech, particularly scale-up or startup environments.Key Skills & AttributesStrong operational leadership and process ownership.High level of accuracy, with analytical problem-solving skills.Clear communicator, confident in engaging stakeholders at all levels.Risk-aware and compliance-focused approach.Inclusive, collaborative leadership style with proven team-building skills.
