As part of the South Yorkshire Airport City project, the re-opening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport represents one of the regions most ambitious and high-profile regeneration programmes.We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director (NED) to join the Board of Fly Doncaster, bringing independent insight, challenge, and commercial expertise to help shape the airports successful mobilisation and return to operation.Appointed by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), this role offers the opportunity to help steer a major regional asset back into service, ensuring it thrives as a commercially viable, customer-focused gateway for South Yorkshire and beyond.What we need...Proven commercial leadership experience ideally customer facing sectors such as retail, with experience of new site openingExperience of start-up, mobilisation, or PE experienceBoard or senior advisory experience in a complex, regulated, or public-private setting.Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and a record of delivery in retail, tourism, or B2C markets.Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Integrity, independence, and a collaborative mindset aligned to public service values.Why This Role MattersThis is a unique opportunity to play a part in one of the UKs most exciting regional regeneration projects, helping bring aviation back to South Yorkshire and securing a thriving future for Doncaster Sheffield Airport.Your contribution will shape the airports direction, ensure sound governance, and help deliver long-term benefits for businesses, travellers, and the wider community.
