Transport Administrator

Primary Role As the Transport Administrator, you provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient movement of goods in and out of our customers site. This role involves close coordination with management, and transport team colleagues to meet our customer expectations, the role is based on our customer site. Key Responsibilities Support operations teams to prepare transport for order fulfilment. Raise purchase orders for external haulier companies. Assist the Logistics co-ordinator ensuring every consignment is checked before it is despatched. Communicate delivery timelines to the sales team and confirm transport details with customers. Proactively communicate any delays or issues to the sales team and customers. Support the Transport Manager with administrative compliance duties. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to meet customer and production needs. Day to day tasks: Customer contact: Provide customer support ensuring all deliveries are agreed and communicated with customers (usually by phone and e-mail). Administration: Provide administrative support to the logistics function. Internal Team Communication: Ensure flow of communication with production 'sales teams (and other teams where necessary) is positive and enables positive outcomes. Monitor Stock: Check through pending job cards to ensure stock availability prior to the despatch process, liaising with the stock controller where necessary.
