We will also consider light vehicle (car mechanics) who wish to progress their career.Purpose of RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual with a passion for trucks to join our commercial workshop team, having the very important role of ensuring our fleet of vehicles is equipped to attend vehicle breakdowns, assisting our customers in getting back on the road. This is a fast-paced, dynamic working environment so will only suit those with a flexible approach to work.Our commercial technicians will also have the opportunity to enhance their skills, we offer specialist recovery & rescue training, supporting our customers who have an HGV fleet that need assistance at the side of the road, with scope to obtain your L/HGV driving Licence if you wish.Job SpecificationCarrying out inspections, service routines and repairsDiagnose and find faults in wide variety of vehiclesComplete vehicle safety inspections to the highest standardContribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshopPrepare vehicles for MOT and presentation for testDemonstrate due regard for own safety and that of others in the workshop and minimise risk of injury and vehicle damageCarry out fundamental tasks associated with removal and replacement procedures on a vehicleObtain diagnostic and repair informationInterpret diagnostic information and use electrical wiring diagrams to determine system serviceabilityUse a range of diagnostic equipment Report faults using company procedures and recommend suitable further actionsFollow recognised repair procedures to complete a wide range of repairs including those which involve complex procedures, or in-depth knowledgeTest the function of repaired and fitted componentsAdhere to business processes and complete documentation following workplace proceduresOrder and source vehicle parts, create emails, word-process documents and carry out web-based searchesComplete a range of services and inspect and prepare a vehicle to the required quality standardKey Role AttributesAn eye for detailThe ability to use, repair and maintain machines and toolsGood written and communication skillsPro-active problem-solving skillsAble to work in a fast- paced work environmentThe ability to work well with othersExcellent customer service skillsCapable of working and communicating within a teamWorking in a fast-paced dynamic working environment, with a flexible approach to workKeenReliableEnthusiasticWilling to learn and be able to pick up the tradeDue to the contracts we hold, you will be required to obtain police force vetting approval prior to commencement date.
