A well-established fit-out and M&E contractor based in West Yorkshire is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team. They're principal contractor for Asda and Tesco, deliver all the M&E for M&S, and have long-standing relationships with a roster of household-name UK retailers.For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.You'll be working on the electrical design across a portfolio of live retail fit-out, refurbishment, and asset replacement projects, covering the usual lighting, small power, LV distribution, and fire alarm scope. The business has a steady pipeline of repeat work rather than one-off projects, so the design team can actually plan ahead rather than firefighting from one job to the next.What you'll be doingLeading electrical design from concept through to construction across lighting, small power, LV distribution, and fire alarm systems for retail and commercial fit-out schemesProducing design calculations, schematics, and Revit models, working closely with the mechanical design team and the wider project delivery functionCoordinating with consultants, sub-contractors, and on-site teams to make sure the design is buildable, commercially sound, and delivered to programmeWhat we're afterA solid background in electrical building services design, with the usual lighting, small power, and LV scopeWorking knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition), CIBSE guides, and current Building Regs, with software exposure to Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Amtech, and Dialux or ReluxExperience in fit-out, main contractor, or consultancy environments, with a genuine interest in the retail sector and the pace that comes with itWhy it's worth a lookThe business is principal contractor and M&E specialist for some of the biggest names on the UK high street, so you'll be working on schemes for clients you actually recognise. xjdpvnf The team is properly resourced, the pipeline is strong, and there's a clear progression path for engineers who want to develop technically or move toward design management down the line.
