Group Payroll Manager

Our Derby-based client is looking for a hands on Group Payroll Manager to join them as soon as possible on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent. This is a pivotal role in leading the transition of four separate in-house payrolls onto one unified system (SAGE) and supporting the move from salaried to hourly-paid staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a high-level, strategic view of payroll operations while still staying close enough to the detail to ensure accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the integration of payrolls from four companies within the group into one SAGE payroll system Manage the transition from salaried to hourly pay structures Oversee and support the Payroll Administrator, who handles much of the data input Take ownership of payroll queries, pension administration, reporting, and liaison with managers across the business Work closely with finance on payroll-related duties and ensure compliance with legislation Happy to assist with inputting of payroll data when volumes rise About You: Strong experience in payroll management, ideally with multi-site or group structures Confident in SAGE payroll systems Skilled in managing change and process improvement Able to take a helicopter view of operations while ensuring the detail is right Excellent communicator who can work collaboratively across departments Benefits and hours: Competitive salary up to 47,000 (DOE) Working hours of 8:30 am until 4:30 pm (30 minutes for lunch) 25 days holiday + bank holidays Opportunity to make a real impact in a key transitional period for the business Supportive working environment in a well-established Derby-based company TPBN1_UKTJ
